Perilous Feet

I'm assuming most of you have heard this by now, but last week a 13-year old girl had both feet severed (that would mean cut off kiddies) while riding the Superman Tower of Power at Six Flags in Kentucky.

I'd advise dumping your Six Flags stock as they're about to sign a rather significant check.

No official word from the family as to the girl's condition, but it is reported the young lady has vowed to never get on the Superman ride again.

A spokesperson for Six Flags says that is just as well as she is no longer tall enough to be able to ride it anyway.

Zing! I swear I haven't heard that joke anywhere else yet, so in my mind that is a JeffRey exclusive. I expect each of you to credit me when you invariably repeat it.

Til next time kids, please keep all limbs inside the car at all times.

I Haven't Forgotten All Of You

I apologize friends for my extended absence but I just have not had the time to write on the many subjects I would have loved to spoken to.

I sincerely hope to have something new for you in the very near future. I probably won't finish the Memphis in May re-cap as response has been tepid at best.

For today I'm going to give you a quick list of films I've seen recently and enjoyed as well as a few excellent CD's that are currently seeing rotation on my own personal radio station.

Films:

This Film is Not Yet Rated
The Good German
Paradise Lost 1 and 2 (These are documentaries made by HBO on the West Memphis 3 case.)

CD's:

"The Search" from Son Volt
"Back to Black" from Amy Winehouse
"The Reminder" from Feist
"Sky Blue Sky" from Wilco (Their best work in 10 years.)
"Baby 81" from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
"Favourite Worst Nightmare" from the Arctic Monkeys
"Alright, Still" from Lily Allen
"We'll Never Turn Back" from Mavis Staples (This is a must own. Mavis goes back to songs from the Civil Right's Movement and shows us just how much they still resonate today.)
"One Man Revolution" from the Nightwatchman (The Nightwatchman is Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. On this disc it's just him and an acoustic guitar as he brings us a taste of feel good liberalism.)

Okay guys, til next time...which I hope to be soon.
